The Rough Diamonds, with their love for all things country and their down to earth personalities are sure to make their mark in the Australian Music Industry.

Sisters, Cec, Em and Lou, belong to a big family where music has played an integral part of every family gathering or backyard barbeque – without music there was no gathering. The girls have spent their lives breathing, sleeping, and living music. They have performed at country music festivals, clubs, restaurants, weddings, concerts and social events.

A little history:
Cec & Em began as a duo, performing as The Rough Diamonds in early 2007. They were asked to perform at the 85th Annual Stroud Show in April 2007, where the girls gained the respect of many country music & ute fans!! For the rest of 2007 they performed at several Ute Shows in the Hunter Region and in Sydney.
In December 2007, TRD released their Debut Acoustic EP titled, “Nights Up On The River”, which is a collection of 7 original tracks. Their first radio release was "Cya", penned by Em, which was voted onto the American Country Radio Network and played on heavy rotation.
January 2008 the girls had a fantastic time performing at the Tamworth Country Music Festival over 10 days with several gigs at venues including the Tudor Hotel & Farrer Agricultural College. It was soon after this festival that TRD learned their debut EP was receiving airplay on several radio stations, within Australia, and also in the US and New Zealand.
In June 2008 TRD performed for the second consecutive year at the Blue Water Country Music Festival (Nelson Bay Diggers & Salamander Bay). This same month their song “When You Smile”, another song penned by Em, was also voted into the American Country Radio Network under heavy rotation.
“When You Smile” was also performed by the Thomas Pattison School Signing Choir, part of the North Rocks Institute for Deaf & Blind Children.
In early August 3008, Cec & Em were joined by their sister Lou, who picked up the bass guitar just a few days before performing her first gig with TRD. It wasn't long before the girls fell in love with their new sound and enjoyed the diversity this brought to their performances.
TRD gained the attention of the Mayor of Lake Macquarie, and between August & December 2008, they were personally invited to perform at several official corporate functions for Lake Macquarie City Council.
December 2008 saw the girls selected to record on the first Ourimbah Sessions Compilation CD for the Ourimbah RSL Club.
By the start of 2009 things were really starting to get busy for TRD.
Early in February, they joined forces with White Ribbon Australia and began work on their major project, “Speak Out, Reach Out”, which is a series of concerts to be held throughout regional NSW to help raise awareness of Domestic Violence. Then in late February, the girls were delighted to have Bill Chambers as their special guest at their Back2Basics Variety Concert at Ourimbah RSL Club. Performing on stage with Bill was a huge buzz for TRD and an experience not to be forgotten!
February was also the month that the devastating fires overwhelmed Victoria. Always willing to help in times of need, TRD sent out the word to their mates in the industry announcing they were going to host a fundraising concert. Receiving an abundance of support, the girls organised two shows. In March 2009, the first of the Disaster Relief Bushfire Appeal concerts was held. TRD with the help of Diggers @ The Entrance and Chris King Productions put on a top class night of entertainment with performances by some fantastic artists such as Lee Forster, Lianna Rose, Dai Pritchard, Jason Lee, Luke O'Shea & many more. Their second concert is being held in late April at Erina Leagues Club, also with the support of Chris King Productions, and will no doubt be a huge success!!
TRD have been requested to perform at this years Gosford Regional Show to be held in May 2009.

There’s no holding back these three determined and talented sisters. Bringing their music to life with strong vocal harmonies, guitar, bass guitar, congitas and percussion, together they have created the unique beauty that is THE ROUGH DIAMONDS!
