In 1998 the aardvarks won triple j's unearthed songwriting competition for the north west region of new south wales. The winning song "fly away" was recorded in triple j's Sydney based studio over two pizza filled
days......and nights.

Phil McKellar is an intense guy, with edge, one of the top producers / engineers in Australia and engineer for the Triple j Unearthed
project...Spiderbait, Silverchair, The Whitlams and You am I, are just some of the bands Phil has produced. You would think that one of the finest producers in Australia could have a blase attitude towards recording unknown bands, not Phil mckellar, he astounded us with the amount of dedication and tenacity he showed throughout the entire project.
