Jason Lowe

"Jason Lowe is by far one of the most impressive young talents Ive heard in years he's got soul, he's got something worth saying and says it with pride and confidence in his performance." Lloyd Spiegel, Ambassador Australian Blues Music Festival/ Multiple Blues Award Winner.

Natural soul that can't be faked, a command of his instrument that's well beyond his years and a voice that any seasoned performer would die for, is what makes 18 year old Jason Lowe unique.

Although Seeded in the 'roots/folk' genre, Jason's original flavour of deep, emotionally charged melodies capture any audience while his exceptional skill as a lap steel guitarist allows him to flow freely into just about any style.

Turning professional at 17, Jason began playing local venues in his home town of Newcastle, performing at some of their major music events including the Mattara Festival and the Boardwalk Sessions.

In January 2007, Jason was selected to perform at the Tamworth Country Music Festival on behalf of Cole Clark Guitars. These were his first real performances ever and alongside some of Australia's most respected guitarists and songwriters they were a key highlight, with many of the artists using Jason's slide technique to vamp up their own material aswell.

Since them first appearance 2008 saw Jason perform 2 shows at the legendary EAST COAST BLUES AND ROOTS FESTIVAL where he came out strong, with director Peter Noble stating Jason as a true highlight and talk of the festival.

Although Jason's recordings do him justice as an artist, what must be known is that his live performances are just something more, they simply must be seen to believed, he holds something intensively true, deep and captivating that is well beyond his age, and has seen him stun and hold audiences everywhere on his impressive solo touring of the east coast.

These days Jason's singles "Faith" and "How we let it be" are receiving airplay on Triplej radio and "Faith" has debuted at no.1 in its genre in the charts for Triple j Unearthed and no.11 in the overall 100.

So with a growing loyal following, Jason is Touring his DEBUT EP with an impressive string of gigs along the East Coast covering everywhere from Melbourne to North Queensland.

" Jason Lowe is an inspiringly talented young musician and a great person to boot, with the ability to "WOW" even the most seasoned musician and keep audiences glued to their seats" Anthony Snape (multiple Musicoz winner)

'Jason just floors me every time I see him play. His heart is golden and is expressed with every note he plays and sings. He's got the sensibility to be one of the most in demand players around - but when you hear his own songs, you know he is destined for something much greater." Adam Miller (finger picking guitar champion 2002)

EP REVIEW:

"Before we chase the sky" debut EP Review by Billy Pinnell in "MAG" magazine
4/5 stars,

From Newcastle NSW, 18 year-old Jason Lowe displays his prodigious talents as a songwriter and lap steel guitarist on this debut release. Resisting the temptation to flaunt his obvious musical gifts, Lowe seduces the listener with his breathy, soulful vocals, understated guitar and a bunch of songs ideally suited to arrangements featuring keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars, percussion and strings. While none of his influences are overplayed (there are hints of country, folk and blues), the subtle differences present on each song makes this release special.

"Really beautiful laid back acoustic tune. He's got one of those voices that's totally captivating and his delivery seems effortless - like Whitley and Angus from Angus & Julia Stone."

"Some profound talent lay here. Centred around honesty and lyrically gentle the instrumentally impressive Lowe provides a maturity in a smooth yet lightly sandpaper vocals. Emotive and expressive, this song provides questions and the answer is hidden in the instrumentation."
